Just Down

There are a lot of things that affect us. People perspectives that never mattered to me are now becoming important. I am unable to relate to the "German fatherland" behaviour of my colleagues at work in Mumbai now. Questioning the attitude that people are essentially good leaves a bad taste. Being too trusting sounds foolish too.

Blaming someone that they do not have empathy to staff when you treat your corporate culture as a state secret not to be shared or spoken of sounds selfish. How will I leave my baggage from an old company behind if you dont even bother to give me a new perspective on things? I am not a sponge and Osmosis is not easy for everyone.

I hardly ever interacted with my CEO but his official move to a bigger role makes me feel that we have lost something. I know we are in capable hands but I cannot help the thought that it IS different.

Doubts

I think I am seriously unlucky. My Company had received an interest from UBS and the next day I read that UBS is faced with huge losses due to a $19.5 billion writedown thanks to the sub prime crisis. The interest in our services also tapers off...

What is it with me and unsuccessful pilots? Is my relative success in India related sales a reality or is that just an illusion?

Who is a Process Consultant?

The more I read, the more I am convinced that a Process Consultant is an IT Manager with the sense to implement IT Solutions for a non-IT process. We may look at legal processes or manufacturing processes, but the point is that the final solution that a process consultant gives, is an IT Solution.

Systems, Speed, Simplicity and Spirit constitute the 4-S philosophy. I read about it in an article on the CIO of ABB India.

Process Consultants:

  1. Have to make information services a key performance enabler and management facilitator
  2. Have to deliver value-additions to business processes
  3. Have to visualise IT solutions to improve business processes
  4. Have to suggest new technologies
  5. Have to train users on Quality, processes, information security, etc.
